The Superb arrives with several absolutely new features. For the first time on Škoda vehicles there are a driver's knee and rear side airbags (up to 9 airbags), parking assistant and Bi-Xenon headlamps with AFS. For the 1.8 TSI/118kW engine there is a 7° automatic DSG transmission available which can be controlled using the 3-spoke multifunction steering wheel.
The TwinDoor, a unique system of opening the rear fifth door, is an original technical design which will take your breath away. If you wish to place smaller items in the boot, simply open the boot as you would on a classic sedan type body. Thanks to the patented construction of TwinDoor the Škoda Superb combines the practical advantages of a liftback with the elegance of a sedan. An individual approach to design has made the Superb a fascinating vehicle. The spaciousness of the interior and the materials used increase the extraordinary level of comfort during a trip.
Specification Sheet - Superb Elegance 3.6

One of the Superb' values is its extraordinary spaciousness. For example, the space for passengers' legs in the back in comparison with the previous generation increased by a total of 19 mm and the volume of the luggage space rose to 565 litres.
The MFA multifunctional indicator with a large display clearly shows the driver all important data and therefore significantly contributes to increases in security and driving comfort. A leather-covered handbrake handle is, together with the steering wheel, head and collar of the gear lever, part of the "Small Leather Packet" standard fittings.

In its market segment it is therefore the first car to meet the forthcoming limit on CO2 emissions of 140 g/km with room to spare. Škoda Auto designers achieved this excellent result by optimising the body's aerodynamic parameters. The design of the front and the lowering of the chassis by 15 mm significantly improved the air flow values around the chassis and under the car. A reduction in the weight helped reduce fuel consumption; instead of a full spare wheel, there is a tyre repair kit and the standard fittings include wheels with tyres that have a lower rolling-resistance force.
The GreenLine sign on the rear lid of the luggage space shows at first glance that the car is a new Škoda model that contributes to improvements in the environment.

The Jumbo-Box between the front seats with an adjustable armrest can be cooled (if the car has air conditioning). The installed audio socket will enable you to make a journey more pleasant by listening to your favourite music. The back wall of the Jumbo Box may contain controls for heating the rear seats (optional accessory).
Operated through a 5" colour touch display, AM/FM radio with an RDS and TP system, a dual antenna for FM reception, a CD, CD-MP3, CD-WMA player for music and DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting), display for information from the GSM II, Climatronic air conditioning, parking systems and time on the display, satellite navigation on a Maxi DOT display. These and many other functions are offered by the Amundsen navigation system.

Increases in the standard of passive and active safety are the subject of constant, maximum attention. In the field of the safety of passengers and others involved in road traffic we make no compromises and you can only find the most advanced technology in our cars!
This is shown by the fact that the Octavia can be equipped, for example, with an ESP electronic stabilisation system, including the cooperating systems ABS, EBV, MSR, ASR, EDS, HBA, DSR and ESBS! In addition the basic equipment includes airbags for the driver and front passenger, side front and head airbags or deactivation of the front passenger airbag.
The new Octavia is also equiped with a fourth-generation immobiliser, and the tag with the VIN and EAN codes. Safety lights on the panelling of the front doors, a system that automatically closes off the fuel supply in case of an accident and an automatic activation of the warning lights during sudden braking are the other important safety elements.
